"Absolutely worth finding this place! The food was amazing, the service was fast and it is super conveniently located. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! The food is all made from scratch, and the flavors are incredible! (Plus if you're gluten free they have great options and a dedicated fryer). We ordered the gyro platter and a build a bowl, with a side of hummus and falafel. So fresh and flavorful, and well put together! The owner came by and chatted with us and he is super fun! I would eat here regularly if we lived closer. I will recommend to anyone in the area!"

"So yummy! Had the chicken schwarma platter & vegetarian platter everything was de.licious. If you like falafel you def need to come, it's fresh and fabulous and the pita bread & dolma are the cook/owner is so kind and makes sure everything is perfect. Make sure you leave with at least once piece of baklava, you won't regret it! We'll definitely be back Oh my gosh, almost forgot to mention the hummus, new fave for sure!"

"Absolutely outstanding experience at Saj Grill in Coralville! I ordered the Vegetarian Platter with extra dolmas (because I'm obsessed with them), and it was one of the best meals I've had in long time. Everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with authentic flavor--the falafel was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, the hummus was silky smooth, and those dolmas? Heaven. I could eat them every day. What truly made the visit unforgettable was the owner's incredible hospitality. He welcomed us like family, checked on us multiple times, and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. You don't just get amazing food here--you leave feeling genuinely cared for. Saj Grill is a hidden gem. If you're anywhere near Coralville/Iowa City, do yourself a favor and go. I'm already planning my next visit (and yes, I'll be getting extra dolmas again). "The absolute BEST hummus I have ever had and the Baba Ganoush was also excellent. I also ordered the traditional Gyro and it was packed with tasty, tender meat and a perfect tzatziki sauce. My daughter had the chicken bowl and absolutely loved it. She enjoyed the ability to chose a base (rice, salad or half and half, 1-2 proteins, 2 sauces and 5 additional toppings. Oh, and I can't forget the freshly made hibiscus juice! Yum! We would definitely come back. Very friendly service and wonderful food!"

"I am not from the Iowa City area, and rarely have the opportunity to indulge in Middle Eastern cuisine, so I was very excited to try Saj Grill at their Coralville location. I had the beef kofte platter, and my son had the Saj Arabi. Both were excellent! I can highly recommend this establishment to the public. Update from December 2025. I stopped here again. It was still fantastic. Please come here and eat."
